A small town with millions of visiting tourists from all over the world – all year round
But there is a trick to avoid the tourist crowds during your visit to Ronda – because the tourists mainly come on one-day trips!

The trick is to visit Ronda early in the morning – and be done with Ronda before 12 a.m.
The tourists start arriving at 10-11 a.m. and from 12 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ronda is packed to the brim with tourists from all over the world – all year round.
But the vast majority of tourists visit Ronda on a day trip, so they have to drive here first and therefore do not arrive until mid or late morning.
And they leave again late afternoon.
How to do it? When I don’t like getting up very early…
Simply book an night in Ronda, e.g. here. Arrive in Ronda in the late afternoon and enjoy a quiet evening at one of the town´s restaurants. In the evening, the vast majority of tourists have already left again.
The next morning you can easily experience everything there is to see in Ronda between 9 and 12 a.m. And then you are ready to move on, e.g. to Setenil de las Bodegas (read our article here).
The main sight is the new bridge, Puente Nuevo (from the 18th century) that unites the two parts of Ronda’s center – across the Tajo gorge.
The bridge is fantastically beautiful – and it can be experienced from up in the square of the town – or from the path through the Tajo gorge.

Puente Nuevo looks most spectacular from the bottom of the Tajo gorge, which is why a hike down through the gorge is a really good experience.
Also because there aren’t as many tourists down here as up in the town – especially not in the morning.
A new walkway is planned on the cliff side, but the current footpath is also an absolutely fantastic walk.
The Arab Baths, Baños Árabes de Ronda
– is located at the bottom of the gorge – by the old bridge, Puente Viejo (from the 17th century).
It is an impressive construction with the traditional Moorish arches – and quite well preserved so that you can form a good impression.
Again: in the morning there are not so many people here, so you can experience it yourself quietly.
Ronda’s bullring, Plaza de Toros, is said to be the oldest in the world
And it is really beautiful and definitely worth a visit.
There is rarely a bullfight here, but the building itself is an experience.
