This country house is located in a tranquil and magnificent setting. A place where you can get away from everything. A delightful Villa with a private pool built in traditional algarvian style with breath taking views.
The Villa resides on three acres in the hills. It overlooks a valley with spectacular views. There is an abundance of exotic wild flowers and orchids that grow beneath ancient olive and carob trees, which line the hills. It is a nature lovers paradise and an artist’s delight. Peaceful surroundings invite you for long walks or just a fitful rest.
.The Villa is 2km from the centre of Santa Catarina, a charming rural village typical of the region. It contains a mixture of tavernas, cafés, a post office and a bank. There is also a small daily fruit and vegetable market. Santa Catarina hosts a traditional Portuguese Sunday market once a month, where you can find everything from goats to leatherwork and local culinary specialities.
15km from Santa Catarina in the eastern Algarve lies the ancient and picturesque town of Tavira. Tavira offers something for all. Historical churches, a castle and a museum, a colourful market, excellent shopping facilities and numerous bars and restaurants.
The coast near Tavira belongs to Parque Natural da Ria Formosa. Consisting of dunes and a lagoon complex, it is known as Ilha da Tavira . It is a paradise for bird watching. Nearby Tavira Island can only be reached by a short ferry ride, here you will find cafés, bars and restaurants, serving anything from sandwiches to regional dishes including shellfish delicacies. Activities include sailing, windsurfing, pedal boats and parasols. Even in the peak time of August this beach is relatively uncrowded.
Barril Beach – children love the miniature railway that shuttles back and forth across a nature reserve to the beach of Barril. There is a good self service restaurant and bar on the beach as well as attractive cafés. Here they organise Bbqs and dancing on he beach once a week. There is also tennis, windsurfing, beach volleyball and pedal boats for hire. A few minutes in either direction you will find miles of beautiful, peaceful, dune fringed beaches.
The average time to reach other beaches is about 20 minutes by car: Fuseta (14km) Ilha da Armona of Olhao,(by ferry boat) Praia Verde, (38km) Praia Cabeca,(36km Manta Rota (33km)and Monte Gordo (40km) are also popular family beaches with white sand and good facilities.

"Lovely villa, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen area and really nice veranda and pool area. The views were great, and it was very peaceful! The villa was really convenient for local supermarkets and trips into Tavira or down to the beaches, and lots of info about local amenities and activities was also provided. Nicht gefallen · The description of the road leading up to the villa could have been better - it was very rough and narrow in places, and we had to drive extremely carefully to ensure we didn't damage the car! Some insect screens for the veranda doors would be nice, so that the doors could be left open during the day without insects getting into the house. "

"Set inland but just a 40 minute drive from Faro Airport this absolutely delightful villa is a twenty minute drive to the coast. If you are looking for that peaceful setting for a "get away from it all break" then Casa Tranquilidade is the place to be. With all amenities provided including it's own swimming pool it is just divine. Eastern Algarve is quieter than further west but there are several places to explore and the offshore beaches accessed by short ferry rides are a must. But you won't want to be away for long as you return to the tranquil setting of this Casa. The owners have put in a lot of thought about the property and they have achieved a high standard. Our third time there and I can recommend it highly."
