Cute rural cottage for 2-4 persons with a pool near Tavira and Faro
Quinta da Murteira cottage is for lovers of peace and the wild nature. This secluded property lies in more than three hectares of grassy slopes and hills. It is the perfect getaway from the crowds of tourists.
This unique 2 bedroom cottage is only a 15 minutes drive from the city of Tavira, its lagoon (Ornithological Reserve) and its beautiful sandy beaches. Due to its central position in the “Sotavento Algarvio” (eastern part of the Algarve), it is the perfect starting point for a day at the beach or to discover the South of Portugal, or even Andalusia. (Spain is only 40 km away, Seville is 180 km away.)
At ‘Quinta da Murteira’, we appreciate above all absolute tranquillity, but also plenty of sun, bird watching, hiking or just relaxing by the pool.

A lovely place to stay near Tavira, rural and quiet, but easy to get to the coast and local towns. Great to return to after a hot day out, peaceful, great local walks, quiet and very clean. Pool is lovely, kitchen small but well equipped, two separate rooms through different doors from outside, both with bathrooms. I’ve nothing negative to say......but the drive from the main road is unnerving the first time... but by day two it feels normal ! The best start glazing I’ve ever had ! Supermarkets a few km away and lots of great restaurants 15 mins drive...try fuzeta...great fish restaurants. I will be booking again...

I spent two excellent weeks in this heavenly place. Very quiet, surrounded by nature and with a breathtaking view, the house is perfect. We never tire of rediscovering the landscape every morning. Benoit and his wife welcomed me with great availability and generosity. I hope I can come back soon :)

Our stay in Benoît and Anne's gîte was far beyond our expectations! The property is beautiful! (not easy to find the first time, but it is worth it!) There is all the necessary comfort to not miss anything and our hosts wanted to share their experiences with us on the best plans and visits to be made in the region. The cleanliness was perfect! You can enjoy the calm of the cottage and its swimming pool in the sun not overlooked and in complete silence ... or admire magnificent starry nights away from the lights of the city ... all just a few minutes away from the city. In short, to stay with your eyes closed! Thank you to them for this beautiful moment!
